I started my photography education taking evening classes at Red River College.

I excelled within the class, and had a great time while I was at it.

Shortly after I was finished at Red River, I attended evening classes at Prairie View School of Photography.

I attended until I graduated high school and made the decision to start my full-time education at Red River College where I graduated with honors and became a certified professional photographer.

After five years of working in the field, I am now also earning my MFA in Photography.

I began my artistic ventures at a very young age,

I believe that expressing yourself artistically is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.

Be it drawing, writing, singing, playing an instrument or photography.

As a child, I was introduce to painting and drawing via my father, but there was one particular artistic pursuit that interested me significantly more than the stuff I did at home with my father.

This was photography.

After I received my first camera I knew photography was something I wanted to pursue.

I would look at objects or scenes and find myself thinking "That would make a good picture", and as I got older I actually acted on those whims.

After receiving good feed back in juried art shows on my photography, I though about the possibility of turning it into a career. That's how I got to where I am today.

The greatest thing about photography is the way it makes me feel.

Taking pictures is very exciting for me, it's exciting to get the opportunity to express myself, it's exciting to capture a beautiful moment in someone's life, and it's exciting to think that maybe my pictures will make someone smile. I get sort of an adrenaline rush while taking pictures because I know the potential each picture has to affect someone.

Confucius said "Choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life". When I look at my life and the potential it holds, I can't help but feel as if that quote completely applies to me. My experiences with photography throughout my life have influenced me and shaped me in ways I can't even believe.
